Your responsibilities

  • Manage safety programs, special projects, and awareness campaigns in compliance with SLSMC policies, applicable legislation, and all relevant standards and regulations;
  • Design, plan, and deliver prevention-focused training programs and information sessions, ensuring effective change management;
  • Develop and deploy practical tools to support internal clients;
  • Participate in joint safety committees and provide an advisory support;
  • Partner with all levels of management to build and maintain a strong safety culture;
  • Develop, review, and update safety procedures in accordance with legislative and regulatory amendments, and ensure their application;
  • Analyze and validate documentation related to maintenance activities, safety inspections, and accident investigations, and provide recommendations;
  • Participate in workplace inspections and in the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses; identify corrective actions and ensure follow-up on recommendations.

 

Your profile

  • University degree or college diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety within a unionized, industrial environment;
  • Strong priority management and organizational capabilities in an operational context;
  • Well-developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills;
  • Proficiency in French and English, both oral and written, to effectively collaborate with teams located in Québec and Ontario;
  • Valid Class G (Ontario) or Class 5 (Québec) driver’s licence with an insurable driving record;
  • Eligible to obtain Marine Transportation Security Clearance.
