Assignment: Temporary (1 year)
Hours of work: 37.5 per week
Annual salary: $124 410 - $139 152
Your role
Contribute to the team's success by playing a key role in the execution of projects involving mechanical engineering work linked to feasibility studies, construction and major maintenance. The work is performed both in the field and in the office.

Your responsibilities
- Responsible for the delivery of technical engineering deliverables/tasks to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budgets.
- Conduct assessments, feasibility studies, inspections and various analyses related to the major maintenance and operation of mechanical assets.
- Drive the Corporation’s Inspection Program for mechanical assets in order to assess the performance of structures and equipment.
- Examine causes, consequences, frequency and operational risks of failures, make recommendations for corrective work, special inspections and instrumentation, and do the necessary follow-up.
- Recommend regular maintenance and major remedial work, including cost estimates, execution timelines and follow up.
- Ensure follow-up to the Inspection Program by leveraging personnel, equipment, external companies and any other activity that will be required to carry out the work.
- Provide expert assistance in Mechanical Engineering, and participate in the medium- and long-term planning of mechanical assets maintenance.
- Prepare budgets and manage expenditures within approved limits.
- Provide support to operational safety programs and initiatives, and ensure application of health, safety and environmental standards meet legislated requirements and company policy.
Your profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Member of Professional Engineering Organisation (PEO)
- Minimum of five (5) years relevant mechanical engineering experience inspection, assessment and rehabilitation of heavy industrial mechanical structures and equipment,
- Sharp critical thinking, attention to detail, rigor, and ability to organize information in a clear and logical manner
- Eligibility for Marine Transportation Security Clearance.
- Availability to undergo medical test, functional abilities evaluation and drugs test
- Proficient fluent in English, verbal and written,
- Proficiency in applicable computer applications, tools and related office software (Microsoft Office, SAP, etc.)
- Valid Class G (ON) driver's license and insurable driving record
- Ability to work at height, depth, near open water and/or confined spaces
