Location: St. Catharines, Ontario (CA-ON)
Assignment: Temporary
Hours of work: 40 hours per week
# of openings: 1
Salary range: Step 1 : $ 43.82/hour; Step 2*: $ 46.74/hour (*After 90 worked days)

Your responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical maintenance, and inspect, repair, dismantle, and assemble machinery, locks, bridges, and both light and heavy equipment;
  • Modify or fabricate parts for machinery and structures of locks, bridges, and buildings, according to specifications;
  • Assemble, install, test, maintain, and repair equipment and machinery;
  • Perform hydraulic maintenance and inspect diesel and gas engines;
  • Assist with civil work and operate lifting equipment, as required;
  • Unload, load, and transport heavy machinery and equipment;
  • Complete standard maintenance field reports;
  • Perform minor welding and cutting repairs.

 

Your profile

  • Diplôme d’études professionnelles (DEP) in Industrial Mechanics in Quebec, or a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent in Ontario;
  • Holder of a Certificate of Qualification as a Millwright (433 A);
  • Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience in maintenance, installation, and inspection of heavy equipment and mechanical systems;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical manuals;
  • Practical knowledge of mechanical and rigging procedures and techniques;
  • Eligible for marine transportation security clearance;
  • Available to undergo a medical examination, functional capacity assessment, and drug screening;
  • Valid driver’s license (Class G in Ontario or Class 5 in Quebec) with an insurable driving record;
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and near open water;
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
