Location: St. Catharines, ON
Assignment: Permanent

Hours of work: 40 per week

Salary: Step 1$42.13/hour  Step 2*: $44.94/hour 

*After the 90-day work probation period

Are you interested in playing a key role in ensuring the success of the team by performing construction surveys (engineering), topographic surveys, calculations and data compiling?

Your responsibilities

  • Survey land or structures to determine exact location and measurement of points, lines, areas, contours and structures for inspection, maintenance or project purposes.
  • Conduct hydrographic survey (sounding) to determine channel depth for inspection, maintenance or project purposes.
  • Perform calculations, compile and interpret data related to surveys.
  • Draft plans, sketches, and diagrams (using AutoCAD).
  • Ensure appropriate maintenance of equipment, tools, vehicles and workboats as required.
  • Create and maintain various reports using automated systems.

 

Your profile

  • College Diploma in Surveying and/or Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years related practical surveying experience.
  • Knowledge of trigonometry, planimetry, topography, and surveying calculations.
  • Knowledge of applicable procedures, rules, regulations, standards and safe work practices with respect to performing duties.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Eligible for certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT)
  • Valid Class G (ON) driver's license and insurable driving record

 

Working conditions

  • Regular exposure to moderately adverse/hazardous working conditions
  • Job may involve working at heights, depths, near open water and/or confined spaces
