Location: South Shore Canal - St.Lambert 
Province: Quebec (CA-QC)
Assignment :  Temporary during the training, with benefits
Salary range:  $31.27 - $47.77 per hour
Hours of work:  40 hours per week, 12-hour rotating shifts #LI-Onsite 

 

Your role

Your responsibilities
 

  • Complete with success Marine Traffic Controller training program lasting between 19 and 24 months.
  • Plan and execute transit activities and remotely operate structures such as: locks, bridges and weirs safely.
  • Coordinate locking activities and determine entry manoeuvre for vessels.
  • Monitor and regulate water levels and flow.
  • Initiate response to accidents, incidents and pollution and assist emergency agencies as required.
  • Record and maintain transit data in electronic systems.
  • Apply safe work methods and perform all activities related to security of the operational facilities.
  • Participate in the mooring of vessels as required.

Your profile

  •  College Diploma or University Degree
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Undergo a security check
  • Undergo drug testing (including cannabis)
  • Valid Class 5 (QC) driver's license and insurable driving record
  • Accurate judgment and decision-making
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills in French and English 
  • Proficiency in applicable computer programs and other related software (MS Office et SAP).
